Terms of Service

Overview

This website and its associated applications are operated by Inscape Therapy Academy (Pty) Ltd. Throughout the site, the terms 'we', 'us', and 'our' refer to Inscape Therapy Academy. We offer this website, including all information, tools, and educational services available from this site to you, the user, conditioned upon your acceptance of all terms, conditions, policies, and notices stated here.

By visiting our site or purchasing a CPD course from us, you engage in our 'Service' and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions (including those additional terms and policies referenced herein). These Terms of Service apply to all users of the site, including browsers, registered mental healthcare professionals, and contributors of content.

Please read these Terms of Service carefully. By accessing any part of the site, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree to all the conditions of this agreement, you may not access the website or use any services.

Professional Representation and Use

By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you represent that you are at least the age of majority in your province of residence. Furthermore, as Inscape Therapy Academy provides Continuing Professional Development (CPD), you acknowledge that you are a registered healthcare professional or a student in a relevant field.

You may not use our educational products for any illegal or unauthorised purpose, nor may you violate any laws in your jurisdiction (including but not limited to copyright laws regarding course content). A breach or violation of any of the Terms will result in an immediate termination of your access to the Service.

General Conditions

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time. You understand that your content (excluding credit card information) may be transferred unencrypted and involve transmissions over various networks. Credit card information is always encrypted during transfer over networks.

You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell, or exploit any portion of the course material or access to the Service without express written permission from us.

Accuracy and Timeliness of Information

While every effort is made to ensure up-to-date, evidence-based information and materials, we are not responsible if information made available on this site is not accurate, complete, or current. The material on this site is provided for general educational information only and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for clinical decision-making without consulting primary, more accurate, or more timely medical and psychological sources.

Registration and Payment

Each account is for use by an individual registered professional. Inscape Therapy Academy does not permit you to share your username and password with any other person. Responsibility for the security of your credentials rests solely with you.

Card transactions, if used, will be acquired via our integrated payment gateway. These providers use the strictest form of encryption (Secure Socket Layer) and no card details are stored on our website. The merchant outlet country is South Africa, and the transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).

EFTs are our current primary mode of receiving payments, however, when available, payments may be made via Visa or MasterCard. For paying accounts, you authorise us to deduct the applicable amount for courses or services. The credit card must be registered in either your name or that of your organization. Credit card payments are subject to validation and authorisation checks of the card issuer.

All fees are exclusive of all taxes, charges, levies, assessments and other fees of any kind imposed on your use of the Service and shall be the responsibility of, and payable by, you.

We reserve the right to suspend access to your account if you fail to provide valid credit card details that enable us to charge the full amount of any outstanding fees and charges due or you fail to pay us any sums owed for the Service for any reason. We will provide prior notice of our intention to suspend your account by email to your registered email address. If, within 60 days of suspending your account, the amount of any outstanding fees and charges is not paid to us in full, your account will be cancelled.

Course Completion and CPD Certification

To ensure the academic integrity and currency of our material, all online courses must be completed within 90 days of the date of purchase and initial enrolment. This timeframe is designed to encourage consistent engagement with the course content and ensure that the learning remains relevant to your clinical practice.

In the event that a course is not completed within this 90-day period, access to the course material will expire. Should you wish to continue, you will be required to re-enrol and purchase the course again at the current prevailing rate. Please note that no extensions or partial credits will be granted for incomplete modules beyond this deadline.

HPCSA Submission Requirements

In accordance with the guidelines set by the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA), only fully completed courses qualify for the awarding of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.

  • A course is considered 'fully completed' once all modules have been viewed and all associated assessments have been successfully passed.

  • Incomplete courses, or those where the 90-day enrolment period has lapsed before final assessment, will not be eligible for CPD certificate issuance or submission to the HPCSA.

  • It remains the responsibility of the registered professional to ensure they manage their study schedule to meet these requirements.

Termination of Service

You may cancel your account at any time by contacting our support team. We reserve the right to cancel accounts that have not been accessed for 90 consecutive days.

When an account is cancelled, the content within it will be made inaccessible. After a period of 5 days following notification, all data contained within the account will be permanently deleted.

Products and Educational Services

Most of our CPD courses are available exclusively online. We reserve the right to limit the sales of our services to any person or geographic region on a case-by-case basis. We do not warrant that the quality of any information or material purchased will meet your specific expectations, although we strive for the highest academic standards.

User Feedback and Submissions

User feedback (outside of the required HPCSA feedback form) on course material or functionality may be provided freely at your discretion. We reserve the right to decide whether feedback will be incorporated based on our own internal processes. If you have opted in, course feedback may be shared on our website and marketing materials, including your name and HPCSA registration category.

In addition to other prohibitions, you are prohibited from using the site or its content:

  • To infringe upon or violate our intellectual property rights or those of our lecturers.

  • To harass, abuse, or discriminate based on gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, race, age, national origin, or disability.

Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

We do not guarantee that your use of our service will be uninterrupted or error-free. You expressly agree that your use of the service is at your sole risk.

In no case shall Inscape Therapy Academy or any of our affiliated staff, contractors, or educators be liable for any injury, loss, or claim arising from your use of the service or any products procured using the service. This includes any errors or omissions in course content.
